Greeters
We are always looking for enthusiastic greeters for our Masses on Saturday at 4:30 pm and on Sunday at 10:30 am here at St. John's and Sunday at 8:30 am at Transfiguration.

Ushers
Ushers foster a sense of welcome and belonging to those who assemble for prayer. The ushers assist in seating, provide assistance when and where it is needed and take up the collection and direct the communion procession.

Adult Altar Servers
Altar servers display a desire to serve in a more intimate way during the Holy Sacrifice
of the Mass. It is an extreme privilege to kneel so close to the altar as our loving Savior Jesus Christ becomes truly present, body, blood, soul and divinity, at the moment of Consecration.
A server is uniquely joined in the Heavenly Supper of the Lamb and serves in the company of those eternally singing Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come! Accordingly, a server has a solemn responsibility to do all assigned duties with attention, dignity and reverence.
Every altar server must attend every Mass they are scheduled for. When a server cannot be present, that server must arrange for a replacement.
Altar servers are on duty from the time they enter the sanctuary at the start of Mass until they finish cleanup after the end of Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.
It is a great gift to bring the Word of God and the Holy Eucharist to the parishioners!
Six Eucharistic Ministers are assigned to serve, each carrying a chalice during the Holy Communion.
Volunteers should be of high school age and older, and a practicing Roman Catholic. Volunteers are generally scheduled to serve a few times per month.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist have the privilege to help the priest administer the Eucharist at the Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses. Please consider signing up. The scheduling is done to match your needs and in conjunction with other liturgy groups to avoid conflicts.
The public worship of our faith community calls upon us to project a respectful code of word and dress because we are in the spiritual and solemn House of God.
If you are interested in serving, please contact us at the parish office: 315-337-0990.

Lectors
Lector is the title given to those who read the assigned Scriptures for the day. The Ministry of the Lector is to proclaim the Word of God by reading from both the Old and New Testament at church services throughout the year. A Lector may also lead the Prayers of the People. Lectors are scheduled to serve at Saturday Mass and Sunday morning Mass. Anyone with a love of Scripture and a good speaking voice can be a Lector.
